We are experiencing strong beam size variation when switching between left and right polarization. The effect seems to change as a function of several things, and in spite of numerous accelerator physics experiments, the reasons are unknown. I have taken David Robin's advice, and am asking each of you to help as a member of the EPU Task Force. The team includes members of the Accelerator Physics, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Control Systems groups. Christoph Steier has agreed to lead this task force.
