- Clarification of Pascal Elleaumes comments.
David would contact Pascal
and ask him to clarify his thoughts about the dynamically induced skew.
- Collection and analysis of the magnet measurement data.
Steve Marks, Jin-Young, and Steve Lidia would collect the existing measurements
on the MES EPU and analyze the linear effects (assuming a straight shot down the device).
Of particular interest is the data on Bx versus x at different shift parameters for the ANTI-parallel mode.
This is of particular interest to see if there is a "double dip" in the skew
as seen in the beam measurements.
- Comparison of the direct field integrals.
Andy Wolski will "calculate the direct field integral
as a function of shift parameter
using Radia and Christoph Steier would determine the direct field integral versus shift
parameter from the feed forward tables.
- Determination of the skew quadrupole component coming from the EPU.
Christoph and others will make another measurement of the change in
beamsize versus shift parameter and in the same shift measure the response matrix.
The response matrix would be analyzed to compute the coupling distribution coming
from the rest of the ring and then Christoph would try to back out the skew terms in the EPU directly.
- Other possibilities for shift dependent skew components.
Ross would think about what other thinks could cause a shift dependent
skew quadrupole (i.e. backing beam, gaps in the blocks, ...)
- Documentation
All of us should start documentation (Notes) to help organize our
thoughts and data.
