Responsibilities
- Performing synchrotron radiation-based research on beyond Li-ion battery materials with emphasis on the use of soft X-ray core-level spectroscopy.
- Fabricating Al/Al2O3 windows and microheaters for in-situ/operando cells to be used at BL7.3.1 and BL8.0.1.
- Assisting in beamline commissioning and supporting external users at BL7.3.1 and BL8.0.1.

Research Interests
Feipeng is a postdoctoral scholar at Advanced Light Source (ALS) in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) performing synchrotron radiation-based energy science as part of the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR) hub on energy storage materials and electrochemical processes with emphasis on the use of soft X-ray core-level spectroscopy for studying the electronic structure of solid/electrolyte interface (SEI) for beyond Li-ion battery materials, including Mg-ion, Zn-ion, and Ca-ion liquid and solid solvations and chemistry.
