Several ALS staff were recognized by Berkeley Lab Director Mike Witherell at the annual Director’s Awards ceremony on November 8.
The ALS Logistics Team (Kristin Carrillo and Celena Loredo) received the Director’s Award for Special Achievement – Organizational Impact “for developing new standards of efficiency, reliability, and flexibility that have enabled and enhanced remote operations at the ALS.”
Mentoring @ LBNL Team (including Ashley White and Antoine Wojdyla) received the IDEA Award – Mentorship “for building the critical foundations of a complex mentoring ecosystem that fulfills different employee needs around mentorship while also modeling the value of team science and cross-Lab collaboration over a 3 year period.”

Design Basis Threat (DBT) Implementation Core Team (including Alyssa Brand) received the Director’s Award for Special Achievement – Organizational Impact “for the conclusion of a 3-year effort to install over $1.4 million dollars of security systems to include developing new lab-wide policies, procedures, and controls to protect high consequence materials resulting in the full acceptance of the LBNL DBT program by DOE.”

Molecular Foundry ISM Team (including Tracy Mattox) received the Director’s Award for Special Achievement – Safety “for the development, publication, and promotion of cross-disciplinary approaches to safety that support inclusive team science.”
