Users and staff may now list their preferred name in addition to their legal name when registering in ALSHub. The preferred name will display on the ALSHub Dashboard, proposals, Scheduler, Experiment Safety Assessment Form (ESAF), and in User Office Communications.
Please note that communications with Human Resources and the badge system still require the use of legal names for now. However, those systems will also implement preferred names in the future because of a mandate by the University of California.
To update your preferred name in your profile:
- Log in to ALSHub
- Click on “Profile” in the top menu bar
- Users should choose “Create a profile or update contact information”
- Then click “Next”
- Update the profile form, review it, and then submit it
