Since 2014 Scientist at the Advanced Light Source at at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab

2010 PhD in Physics RWTH Aachen University, Germany
Awards: Feodor Lynen Postdoctoral Research Fellowship by the German Alexander von-Humbold Foundation

Nottingham Prize by the Physical Electronics Conference

Research Interests

I am interested in the physics and materials for novel computing paradigms, in particular in paradigms that rely on magnetism or spin. This translates to research on

  • Magnetic Spin Textures: Skyrmions and Chiral Domain Walls in Thin Films
  • Functional Molecular Spin-Materials and Spin Crossover Molecules
  • Magnetic Coupling at Interfaces and Nano-structures.
  • Broad collaborative activity from Complex Oxides to Earth and Environmental Science.
