The goal of the Department of Energy’s Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program is to prepare graduate students for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission, by providing graduate thesis research opportunities at DOE laboratories. These outstanding U.S. graduate students will be provided supplemental awards to conduct research at the ALS in areas that address scientific challenges central to the Office of Science mission:
Alaina Hartnett, Harvard University
Advisors: Daniel G. Nocera (Harvard) and Ethan Crumlin (ALS) Using Operando APXPS to Investigate the Effect of Catalyst Composition on Dynamic Surface Processes Occurring During Electrochemical Oxygen Evolution |
|
Mostafa Nassr, University of Texas at Austin
Advisors: Benny Freeman and Nate Lynd (UT Austin) and Greg Su (ALS) Characterization of Fouling Mechanisms of Water Purification Membranes via Operando X-ray Scattering |
