Berkeley Lab has recently updated its vaccination policy and requires that all staff, on-site affiliates, and facility users be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have an approved medical, disability, or religious exception or pregnancy deferment in place. Users who need a new badge will be asked to provide their vaccination documentation during the registration process. A separate process allows users whose badge is active to provide their required vaccination documentation.
If you plan to come on-site, please be sure to check the User Guide and tell us your arrival date in ALSHub with sufficient time for processing your request and getting your LBNL badge: one month for U.S. citizens and two months for non-U.S. citizens. Your arrival date is the date you will arrive at the Lab, which is not necessarily your experiment start date. Telling us when you arrive will launch the registration process. The User Office will not be able to expedite last-minute requests for access to the ALS.
We also ask PIs or Experiment Leads to complete the Experiment Safety Assessment Form (ESAF) as early as possible. All prospective on-site experiment participants should be included on the ESAF. The User Office is using the ESAF to confirm vaccination status prior to the experiment date.
