Jeff Neaton is the Energy Sciences Associate Laboratory Director. He joined Berkeley Lab as a postdoc at the Molecular Foundry in 2003 before becoming a staff scientist. While maintaining his research program, he has also taken on many leadership responsibilities at the Lab. Read more »

Bjoern Enders joined the ALS as a postdoc in July 2016. He first worked on Beamline 5.3.2.1 before moving to Beamline 7.0.1 (COSMIC) when 5.3.2.1 was disassembled and the ptychography program was moved in the summer of 2017. His research is part of the NSF Science and Technology Center STROBE. Read more »

Daniela Leitner first came to Berkeley Lab more than 20 years ago and has worked on a variety of research and operations projects in multiple divisions. Most recently, she joined the team of the ALS Upgrade project (ALS-U) as the lead for removal and installation. Read more »

For more than 10 years, Will Chueh has been an ALS user. He started coming to the ALS as a grad student using one technique, and now, as an assistant professor at Stanford University, his group uses multiple techniques and multiple user facilities to better understand energy storage materials. Kevan Anderson joined the ALS in August as supervisor of the Beamline Controls Group, which is responsible for supporting the integrated control systems associated with ALS beamlines. Anderson works with a group of software developers who are available to beamline scientists. Read more »

After 18 years working in various divisions at Berkeley Lab, Jeremy Coyne recently returned to the ALS, where his Lab career first started. Jeremy has taken on the role of senior business manager at the ALS, overseeing and managing the ALS Business Support Team and the division’s entire financial portfolio. Read more »

Sol Omolayo joined the ALS about a year ago and has been enjoying the challenge of being part of the design team for the ALS Upgrade project, ALS-U, as well as applying his vacuum engineering expertise to current ALS operations. Read more »

Guillaume Freychet is a postdoctoral fellow at ALS Beamlines 7.3.3 and 11.0.1.2, the small- and wide-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS /GISAXS) beamlines. His research is focused on the development of algorithms and data treatments for various scattering techniques. Read more »
