Registration is now open for the 2019 ALS User Meeting, which will take place October 1–3 at Berkeley Lab. The ALS Users’ Executive Committee (UEC) and meeting organizers have assembled a full event featuring:
- News from DOE
- Keynote talks
- Updates on the ALS-U Project
- UEC-hosted town hall
- 11 focused workshops and tutorials
- Student poster “slam”
- Exhibitor tent
- Presentation of awards at the annual banquet
In addition to the always-popular science workshops presenting the latest scientific findings and technical advances, tutorials will be offered to introduce new and seasoned users to various professional skills, techniques, tools, and instrumentation. A special tutorial organized by the Users’ Executive Committee (UEC), entitled “Light Sources 101” will be back again this year for its second edition. The session provides an overview for students, early-career scientists, and those who want to expand their technique toolkit.
A limited number of student travel awards to attend the entire User Meeting and student registration waivers to attend only the Light Sources 101 tutorial are available. Please apply here.
