Submit a Tutorial Proposal for the 2023 User Meeting
The Users’ Executive Committee (UEC) is soliciting tutorial proposals for the 2023 User Meeting, September 11–15, which will be the first in-person/hybrid meeting since 2019. We are so excited to return to the interactions, the vendors, the food, and the views! Tutorials will take place on the 11th, followed by the plenary and poster sessions on the 12th. The 2023 ALS User Meeting & Visioning Workshops will be held as a hybrid event September 11–15, 2023. The User Meeting, chaired by Yu He, Wendy Gu, and Devin Grabner, will take place Monday and Tuesday. Valeriy Yashchuk Receives 2022 Klaus Halbach Award
Valeriy Yashchuk aims to make the binary pseudo-random calibration tool (BPR) the internationally recognized standard for thorough characterization of a broad spectrum of topography measuring tools. Others might find it daunting to convince scientists around the world to agree on one standard, but Yashchuk is accustomed to roadblocks, and finding creative solutions to them. The ALS Users’ Executive Committee recognized Yashchuk, program lead for metrology, for developing this critical technology. Read more »
