Natalie Larson Awarded Neville Smith Student Poster Prize

Natalie Larson, a current ALS doctoral fellow from UC Santa Barbara, won the first prize Neville B. Smith Student Poster Award at the 2017 ALS User Meeting. Larson’s winning poster featured the first two big in situ experiments she performed at Beamline 8.3.2. Read more »

Sue Bailey Receives Tim Renner User Services Award

2017 ALS User Meeting Highlights

The annual ALS User Meeting convened October 2–4, bringing together 400 users to share insights from their own research and hear updates about the facility and colleagues’ research. The event, co-chaired by Users’ Executive Committee (UEC) members Francesca Toma and Monika Blum, comprised plenary sessions as well as 13 focused workshops. Read more »

Discounted early registration ends Monday, September 18, for the 2017 ALS User Meeting, which will take place October 2–4 at Berkeley Lab. The ALS Users’ Executive Committee (UEC) and meeting organizers have assembled a full program featuring news from DOE, keynote talks, and science highlights, as well as 13 focused workshops, a student poster “slam,” and the presentation of awards at the annual banquet. Deadline Extended: Nominations for the 2017 ALS User Meeting Awards

The deadline for nominations for the 2017 ALS User Meeting awards has been extended to July 31. Consider putting forward an individual (or team) who has made a significant contribution to the scientific and/or user support programs at the ALS.
