ALS-U Takes Center Stage at User Meeting
The ALS upgrade project (ALS-U) was a focus of this year’s User Meeting, beginning with Laboratory Director Mike Witherell’s announcement that ALS-U has received mission need approval, the first critical milestone in the DOE approval process. Call for Proposals to Host Workshops at the 2016 ALS User Meeting
ALS users are invited to submit proposals to host workshops at the upcoming ALS User Meeting to be held October 3-5, 2016 at Berkeley Lab. Students are also encouraged to suggest workshop topics of particular interest to them.

ALS User Meeting Highlights Challenges, Accomplishments
The 2014 ALS User Meeting featured notable scientific speakers and a review of the year’s accomplishments as well as a look forward to dealing with challenging funding realities.
