| Spot size | Focused to 7um without pinhole; pinhole diameters available (on request): 2 - 20 um |
| Sample information | Vacuum compatible (p < 1e-7), sample heating (400 K) and cooling (20 K). Transmission geometry samples: need soft x-ray transparent substrates e.g. Si3N4 membranes - can estimate x-ray transparency for transmission substrates here. Reflection geometry samples: need <8mm lateral dimensions, < 1.5mm in height/thickness. Thicker samples may be accommodated, contact beamline staff. |
| Additional Notes | Twotheta scannable from -10 - 150deg with 50 mm translation perpendicular to the beam. Polarization is user selectable; linear (variable from horizontal to vertical) & circular (left and right-handed). Detectors: Flange mounted ANDOR CCD iKon L 936. Twotheta arm Princeton Instruments MTE3 CCD & Si Photodiode. Vector plane magnet (x-z) up to 0.1T without cooling, 0.65T with LN2 cooling. |
