ALL USERS must complete the following three online courses:
- ALS 1001: Safety at the ALS
- EHS 0470: General Employee Radiation Training (GERT)
- SEC 0203: Cyber Security Notice
Users must have an LBNL ID number to do their training courses. To obtain an LBNL ID number, create a user account in ALSHub or update your profile in your existing ALSHub account and tell us when you will arrive at LBNL (which is not necessarily your experiment start date). The User Office will send your profile to the Berkeley Lab Shared Services Office. The Berkeley Lab Shared Services Office Users will process your request, and when completed, your LBNL ID number will be issued in your congratulations email from Human Resources.
When prompted in the training course, choose the non-LDAP login and enter your LBNL ID number to begin.
***Please note that if you do not complete GERT training by midnight on your start date and you have been issued a badge, your badge will automatically become deactivated.
All users will receive beamline-specific training on arrival at the ALS.
Some work requires additional safety training.
